This boat launch is located in the Gilford area of Innisfil. Innisfil is a town along the shore of Lake Simcoe. Because of its closeness to nature and water, many people visit this area to spend time outdoors, including the parks, trails, and, of course, the lake. Outside of outdoor activities, Innisfil has many shops, restaurants, and farmer’s markets.
This particular boat launch is also right next to Kon Tiki marina. This makes it ideal if you are looking to rent a boat, rent equipment, or even seek assistance on what to buy.
Because this is an isolated boat launch, and not attached to a park or marina, there are limited reviews of this ramp available. However, based on information we have gathered from town newspapers and online message boards, we can say that this boat launch has mixed reviews.
It is simply a no-frills boat launch. It is free to use, and is maintained. It is located at the end of Shore Acres Drive, so as long as it is not in use you are free to launch your boat there.
However, many boaters were upset at the lack of parking nearby. Most had to rely on street parking, which fills up fast. Additionally, it is not the widest boat launch, and is not suitable for larger boats. And because it is at the end of a road, there is not a large space for you to turn your trailer around.
Please consider these factors when deciding whether this boat launch is suitable for your needs.
